Helen Rhodes BSc ACA
I have been qualified as a Chartered Accountant for more than 16 years and have worked with numerous small and medium businesses.
Once I had my ACA qualification under my belt I moved from practice to industry as I was keen to learn how to be a ‘real’ accountant. I loved the experience that this brought – learning the nuts and bolts of how to make money, how to control costs, do business forecasting, and ultimately understand how all the functions within a business work together – sales, purchasing, marketing, IT, manufacturing, finance etc... I worked in several manufacturing firms with increasing levels of responsibility and my last role in industry was as Financial Controller at Senior Management level.
I decided to start up my own business as a general practitioner in 2010 shortly after my son was born. I wanted the freedom to choose my working hours, the empowerment of self-employment and more of a connection to my local community. I still have all three of these things, and much, much more!
I love being my own boss and I hope my enthusiasm for self- employment comes across in how I work with my clients. I know the trials and tribulations of running your own business from first hand, and I also know how rewarding it can be too.
I am very proud of how I have built up my practice from scratch. I pride myself on my personal service and this is evidenced by how much my clients genuinely enjoy working with me - just take a look at the testimonials!

- I must adhere to the Institute's standards and Code of Ethics
